It can even be frustrating, especially when trying to fit your kitchen appliances like the oven, microwave, blenders, pressure pots, etc., into your space. However, by carefully exploring your imagination and thinking outside the box, you can find a suitable solution to the challenge.
There are surprising design tricks to make your small kitchen look bigger and more comfortable. Here, we discuss some thoughtful and easy designs to create that bigger kitchen experience.
Put Away Small Appliances
Small appliances here and there can create a cluttered kitchen. Unlike big appliances, such as ovens and microwaves, it is easy to take out small appliances and put them back. In essence, hiding them isn’t a bad idea.
Using an appliance garage keeps your toasters, blender, and coffee grinder hidden away from your kitchen surface. This will make your small kitchen look bigger, airy, brighter, and more comfortable.
Less Dark colors, More Light Colors
When you want to expand your kitchen, using a dark shade might not be a good idea. Dark colors will make your kitchen look even smaller, and that is something you want to avoid. Light colors are ideal for small kitchens. Neutral palettes have a way of making a small kitchen look bigger and breathable.
So introducing neutral colors such as light grey, baby blue, pale pink, soft sandy, earthy tones, and even bright colors like yellow, white, light green, etc, will be perfect for a spacious feel. But if you like to throw in some dark colors, use less of it and more light colors. A marble countertop is also a brilliant idea. In addition, aligning the color of your table and chairs with your walls gives a spacious and unified look.
Maintain Glossy Kitchen Features
Glossy features are another interesting trick to consider when looking to achieve a bigger kitchen look. Glossy cabinets, high gloss paint, stainless steel appliances, glassy big floor tiles, etc., are great for small kitchens.
This creates the illusion of a bigger space as they reflect light. Positioning lights underneath your cabinet is essential for a larger kitchen as well. More light, bigger space.
Introduce Open Shelves
When doing a kitchen upgrade, introducing open shelves is another creative kitchen if having a wide look in the kitchen matters to you. It is a space-saving solution and a must-have for a small kitchen. Apart from being a space-saving solution, it is also a cool design idea for kitchens. Copper shelving is super-chic and on-trend.
If your shelves get filled up, don’t force anything to fit in. It will look clustered. Hanging your pans, pots, mugs, and utensils at the edge of your shelves or your wall is another simple and interesting clever storage solution.
Simplicity is key
